Now is the time to order 2015-2016 Yearbooks!  Cost is $12.  Checks should be made payable to Balfour.  Parents may also order on line at www.smart-pay.com.  When ordering online, please make sure to select our school and follow the ordering instructions.  Orders must be turned in by October 23rd.

Our school wide fundraiser has officially begun!  Order forms and money need to be turned in by October 7th.  Items sold will be delivered 3-4 weeks after the order form turn in date.  Students will receive a Minion Collectible for each three items sold.  Top Seller receives $100.

MYRC will have a yard sale on October 3rd from 8:00am-12:00pm.  Booth rental is available for $20.  There is also a FREE Movie Night on October 3rd from 6:30-9:00pm (rain or shine) at the MYRC.  Bring your chairs!

GJAL will be participating in the Apple Festival Kiddie Parade.   Students are invited to walk with the float.  Please meet at 3:30 at the 17th Street Warehouse grassy lot in front of the building.  Parade starts at 4:00.  The parade will progress East down Walnut Street.  You must pickup your child at South 9th Street and Walnut immediately after the parade.  It is suggested that if your child participates in the parade that he/she is accompanied by a parent/guardian.   Thanks in advance for your help and participation with this event.

This Friday, Murphy Red Devil Football game will be the WSIL News Channel 3 “Sack Hunger” football game of the week.  Everyone attending the game is encouraged to bring a sack or item of non-perishable food to donate to the Murphysboro Food Pantry.  We will be competing against the Massac County fans to see which community can contribute the most.  The community raising the most items for their pantry will also receive a $500 gift card from Black Diamond Harley Davidson to purchase more supplies.  Please bring items and encourage anyone coming to the game to also participate.

SIU is hosting a movie night @ Saluki Stadium tonight.  Gates open at 6:30. The movie, Inside Out, will start at 7:00pm.  Admission is FREE.  The rainout date has been set for Saturday, September 19th.

This Friday, Murphy Red Devil Football game will be the WSIL News Channel 3 “Sack Hunger” football game of the week.  Everyone attending the game is encouraged to bring a sack or item of non-perishable food to donate to the Murphysboro Food Pantry.  We will be competing against the Massac County fans to see which community can contribute the most.  The community raising the most items for their pantry will also receive a $500 gift card from Black Diamond Harley Davidson to purchase more supplies.  Please bring items and encourage anyone coming to the game to also participate.

SIU is hosting a movie night @ Saluki Stadium on Friday, September 18th.  Gates open at 6:30. The movie, Inside Out, will start at 7:00pm.  Admission is FREE.  The rainout date has been set for Saturday, September 19th.

Murphysboro Youth and Recreation Center (MYRC) along with the 4H Federation will present a Gingerbread House Workshop on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at 6:30.  There is a charge of $5.00 for supplies.  Register now!  A gingerbread competition will run from Dec. 2-5.  Winner is determined by a penny vote.  Prizes awarded!  MYRC will host Breakfast with Santa on December 5 from 9-10:30am.  Call 684-8243 with any questions.

Spring Picture Day is on Friday, March 18th.  Individual and Class pictures will be taken.  Class pictures are pre-pay, so they must be ordered and paid for on that day.  The cost is $9.50.  Individual pictures are not pre-pay.  Everyone sits for a photo and when the packages are sent home you can decide to pay for all, some, or none of the photos.  Simply send back to the school anything you do not want to purchase.
